Hanami-yama park

The late Mr. Shotaro Akiyama, one of the most famous Japanese photographers, called Hanami-yama ga Shangri-La in Fukushimah and visited here almost every spring when he was alive. Blossoms of plum, peach, cherry, forsythia, quince, magnolia etc, come into bloom all together in spring. Surely, a Shangri-La or a paradise on earth is the right name for this place.

This park was made by a local flowering tree farmer. He has been planting many flowering trees one by one for many years hoping that people would find peace of mind when they look at the blossoms. The park is open to the public for free and is very popular among tourists inside and outside of Fukushima prefecture.
