Obori Soma Yaki (Obori Soma Ware)

【 February 04, 2011 】

Handmade Obori Soma Ware passes down the heart of 300-years of tradition.

Obori Soma Ware has 300 years of tradition and is designated as a National Traditional Craft. The pottery has three features: The blue cracks as "Ao-hibi," which are spread throughout a piece of pottery, the "Hashiri-Goma" running horse painted in the style of the Kano school, and the "Niju-Yaki" superimpsosition method of creating a piece of ware with two layers. You can feel simple taste and warmth of Soma Ware.
