Onsen Route No. 1: Southern Fukushima Area

Kumato River runs from Hijirigaiwa as a source and it is attractive for its contrast between beautiful water and green fields.

This hot spring was said to have been found at the beginning of the 9th century in order to cure the illness of Emperor Saga.

This hot spring is overlooking Okawa line with a view of the beautiful valley. Open-air baths are also situated along the river beach.

Strangely shaped rocks and oddly shaped stones are standing side by side like a tower, and they are designated as national natural treasure.

There is a vast Shirakawa Kogen Farm.

This Ryokan is the only accommodation based at Okukashi area and it was loved by Matsudaira Sadanobu, the lord of Shirakawa Domain.
